When your baby starts to cut their first teeth, it can mean sleepless nights for the whole family.

Here’re a few tips to helpyou get through and help your baby.

Each baby is different, so find what works best for your little one.

  • Your baby might feel worse at night as they lay down and this can lead to a few sleepless nights, so be sure to stock up on coffee! Or set aside for some time during the day to take a nap. Try and enjoy those extra cuddles with your baby.
  • A teething ring can help soothe those sore gums and distract them for a little while. There are some you can pop in the freezer to make them cold too which can help. The act of chewing will help your baby self sooth their soreness they feel in their gums. We love Mioplay silicone teethers as they function as a little sensory toy as well. They are easy to wash too making them a hygienic option.

  • It might be a good time to buy them their first little toothbrush – this will give them something to chew on, as well as getting them used to the future when those little teeth come through and you have to star brushing them.
  • Paracetamol and ibuprofen can help. Be sure to check with a pharmacist or doctor to help you choose the right one for your baby.
  • You could use a teething gel. Be sure to check the ingredients first and apply a small amount of teething gel with a clean finger. Check with your pharmacist first to find one that is okay for babies to use.
