Mother sits with her baby on her bed and a Bednest is next to her

The Bednest is one of the most versatile bassinets on the market and its many features make it a truly unique product. It has received fantastic reviews, one reads as per below.

Jools Oliver – baby clothing designer and wife of Jamie Oliver says …..

We love the Bednest – we have never had anything like it before for our other three children. I love the way it is so close to our bed, the sides are really easy to pull down and I could practically roll little Buddy from my boob to bed!!!!! Easy and definitely eliminates the fear of falling asleep with them in your bed and suffocating them, as they lay safe next to you but in their own safe little cosy bed – brilliant! Also large enough to last longer than the Moses basket, Buddy now sleeps in the Bednest in his nursery as I think he is a little small for his cot so it’s perfect.”

Research shows that it is beneficial to the baby to co-sleep with the parents for the first months. It is, however not recommended to share the same bed as this practice increases the risk of SIDS.  Learn more here.

“In New Zealand, the Ministry of Health advises that “the safest place for your baby to sleep is in a cot besides the parental bed for the first six months of the infant’s life”, says Professor Mitchell, who initiated a study on the issue.

He says that in New Zealand more than 50 percent of deaths occur while parents slept in the same bed as baby.”

“The study authors state that babies can still be brought into the parents’ bed for comfort and feeding during the night, but that they should be placed in a cot next to the parents’ bed to sleep.”

The Bednest is attached to the main bed and creates a separate, safe place for your baby. During the night, feeding and settling is much easier and quicker, letting both you and baby get more sleep.

To fully secure your Bednest to your main bed you will need the strap set. It is included with a new Bednest but also available here as a replacement.

There is a long and a short strap in the set. The short is for a bed frame. For an ensemble you connect the long strap with the short to make it long enough to go all around the base.
